Featured Project: Manor Home Revitalization
/A classic manor-style home, located in the Medina neighborhood East of Seattle, was full of rustic charm and just needed a revitalization. Authentic Home’s Kathy Banak diligently implemented a design which met her clients’ vision with an elegant, calming and classic aesthetic. Each room in this gorgeous home has been uniquely designed with the Authentic Home motif; fully refreshed and with a cohesive, functional, and sophisticated scheme. Kathy’s application ofAuthentic Home COLOR paints created a calming sanctuary for her clients to come home to.
Elegant Kitchen:
The kitchen’sgorgeous Calcutta Gold marble was pre-exisiting and set the foundation for the remaining elements of the kitchen design. From there, she worked the color palette around it while lightening up the cabinetry using the Authentic Home Champagne on Ice paint color and extended the stove hood and Calcutta marble backsplash to the ceiling line.
Fresh stainless plumbing fixtures and an under-cabinet microwave drawer were installed and three glass bell jar lantern pendants added extra elegance to the space. Simple added touches, such as table lamps on a credenza, pull the whole design together giving it a warm, welcoming touch.

Stunning Dining Room:
This room’s design feature is the spectacular one-of-a-kind silver leaf dining table, provided by the client, which Kathy had refinished to add a beautiful and elegant touch. Hardwood floors and hand carved beams were refinished to a beautiful natural and antiqued rustic look. One of the most beautiful focal points in this room are the custom-designed velvet drapes in a soft robin’s egg blue color. They admirably adorn the large windows, showcasing the picturesque garden outdoors.
A Swarovski crystal chandelier adds a timeless sparkle, while the walls which are painted in theAuthentic Home Powder Green color bring in a serene palette. The ceiling, painted in the Authentic Home Champagne on Ice color, sets the foundation for a calming and elegant place to entertain family and friends.

Relaxing Living Room:
Kathy chose the Authentic Home Greystone paint color to set the tone for this calming space, which is located just off the main entrance to the house. She selected bright and fresh cherry blossom floral upholstery for the custom-made roman shades and tufted ottoman. These accents bring light and sophistication to the room while pulling the color palette together in a soothing and elegant way.
A streamlined sectional sofa and chaise, a timeless sitting chair, and a metal and glass round end table bring together the soft and soothing elegance that this room exudes. It is the perfect place to have family gatherings, watch a favorite movie, or just curl up and read.

Sophisticated Lounge:
Kathy’s client was seeking a classic, yet lighter feminine aesthetic to the fireplace lounge. The first elemental focus of this room’s project was to replace the rustic, heavy, stone fireplace. It was transformed with a concrete mantel and hearth, detailed with beveled edging and a curved top byOld World Stoneworks.
Authentic Home Dove Grey paint color was custom made into a stain which adhered to the concrete surround, while an opal-colored metallic finish paint was applied for the final coat, giving the fireplace a truly unique, metallic finish. The elegant arm-chairs create cozy reading nooks for a comfortable evening or rainy afternoon by a crackling fire. Kathy implemented a classic and richly upholstered love seat facing the beautiful hearth. The organic wool and silk area rug defines the space, completing this sitting area with a calming and cozy charm.

Calming Master Bedroom:
Kathy Banak created this design based on a knowing that a bedroom should be a restful and calming sanctuary.
The most prominent design element in the space is the beautifully ornamental silver leaf bed, which makes a dramatic first impression- boasting grandeur while carrying a warm and calming aesthetic.
Authentic Home’s Dove Grey paint color is the perfect complement to the space; creating a zen-like and soothing backdrop to the beautiful details within the space. The custom wool carpet in a light grey color definitely brightens up the room, while creating acoustic barriers and warmth in the space. The crystal bedside lamps and chandelier are the finishing touches that make this bedroom a truly restful sanctuary for the homeowner.

Zen Master Bath:
Kathy implemented the traditional, elegant aesthetic prominent throughout the rest of the home, into the clients’ Master bath design. Carrara marble was a timeless selection – perfectly pulled together with a decorative floor mosaic. The beautiful floor design acts as a beautiful first impression upon entering the bathroom. The Bombay chest, that was refinished and painted in theAuthentic Home Champagne on Ice paint color, was re-fitted to become the vanity and give the room a rich, sophisticated touch.
The gorgeous soaking tub was authentic to the bathroom, creating a beautiful and elegant focal point. Kathy implemented the addition of a new Victoria & Albert telephone tub filler and faucet, pulling the bath space together in an element of grandeur. The Authentic Home Dove Grey paint color adorns the walls- truly bringing a spa-like feel to the space. A vanity bar light and a beveled decorative vanity mirror were added as the finishing touches for the perfectly timeless master bathroom.

Master Closet:
A new closet system created more storage and organization for the homeowner’s busy lifestyles. An elegant pendant light and Authentic Home’s Dove Grey Paint color bring forth added beauty to this space.
Elegant Study:
The homeowner’s office was formerly a teenage boy’s bedroom and has transformed into a light and airy room with the use of the Authentic Home Pink Grapefruit paint color and custom wool carpet in a grey color tone. The iron trundle bed custom bedding and coordinates beautifully with the custom roman shades. The timeless writing desk and dresser were moved with the homeowner and add the perfect feminine touch to this pretty room.

Restful Guest Bedroom:
The wrought iron bed and bedside tables moved with the homeowner and are the perfect size for the guest bedroom. The Authentic Home Ocean Mist paint color was applied to the walls and sets the foundation for this restful bedroom.

Classic Stairwell and Hallway:
A grand staircase with new iron balusters is one of the first things one sees upon entering the home. The beautiful scroll style fits perfectly with the lighter feminine feel of the home. The mission style stairwell pendant was updated with a crystal and glass chandelier that is a beautiful welcome to the homeowner and guests as it is seen through the window outside upon entering the home.
The elegant master hallway provides an en-suite feel as it is adjacent to the master bedroom. A new silver chest, seafoam green cut glass lamps and a custom mirror complements the décor in all the other rooms to make this a spectacular master suite.

The laundry room was lacking functionality, so Kathy implemented a stackable washer and dryer to create more space for storage. The counter top features a Carrara marble which gives it an elegant touch.
