Opening in November 2003, Authentic Home is conveniently located in the Morgan Street junction of West Seattle at 7001 California Avenue Southwest. Authentic Home expands its interior design business to provide clients with the services needed to beautify their homes in the Greater Seattle area. Authentic Home's founder, Kathy Banak, whose passion for color sparked the creation of her interior design business, realized that there was a need for clients to utilize both color and fabrics to complete their interior home projects. "It is easy for people to become overwhelmed by the vast choices, get stuck, give up and as a result do nothing," says Banak. Kathy agrees that home projects leave many intimidated and not sure where to start. After seeing the possibilities, Banak decided to bring together a team of specialists to help unburden people and open the door to interior potential. The Authentic Home team takes Banak's vision of marrying color and fabric to create a complete room. With Kathy Banak’s twenty years of marketing expertise combined with her deep-rooted passion for color and fabrics, clients experience her distinguished work ethic and superior client satisfaction. Liz Bolling joins Authentic Home with her custom sewing expertise and over fifteen years of business experience as the owner of Liz's Creative Needle. Catherine DuBose comes to Authentic Home with over fifteen years of interior design and merchandising experience as the former manager for the Blakeley Home Store. All three women bring unique talents and expertise that combined provides a creative focus bringing rewarding possibility and authenticity into client’s homes. Authentic Home will feature Devine Color™ paint, the unique creation of Oregon artist, Gretchen Schauffler. "I am inspired by the way this odorless paint covers walls creating an incredible illuminating effect in a room," says Banak. Authentic Home provides onsite color consultation to design a portfolio of color to meet the client's needs and desires. In addition, they offer paint pouches to sample colors on a client’s home walls instead of relying solely on small paint chips. Not only will the Authentic Home team of experts be able to create dazzling results using Devine Color™ paint, they will also provide custom window coverings, upholstery, bedding, and pillows using a wide range of fabrics.
