Authentic Home's Vision

Authentic Home's vision is based on color. Authentic Home was born from a concept that marries color, fabrics and design. The name Authentic Home was conceived after realizing that many people live in "white boxes." Our mission is to help you make color decisions so that your home can be an authentic reflection of you and your family. As a working interior designer, I realized that many interior projects were being put on hold, sometimes for long periods of time, due to the overwhelming number of interior choices available in the market today. Many projects didn’t move forward because of the inability to make the first key decision…color. The choice of paint colors, in our view, is the foundation for interior design projects. By designing a color portfolio for the home, we can create the foundation and use it when selecting materials for other interior projects such as custom window coverings, furniture or flooring.

We also base our business on the belief that regardless of your budget you should be able to work with an interior designer. The name "interior designer" often comes with a connotation that you have to get rid of your existing furniture and accessories and have a large budget. I don't believe in this and have specifically designed my tag line as "Interior Style Guidance" to reflect just that. I believe that Authentic Home's philosophy is quite unlike most traditional interior design firms. Instead of telling you how you should decorate your home according to a specific style or trend, our philosophy is to give you guidance…let your own personalities, interests and lifestyles slowly dictate what the final look should be. We are part of your team and work as project managers who gently move the project forward to completion.
