Primary Bathroom Refresh

My client’s 1980’s large master bathroom was in need of long overdue refresh and the goal of the remodel was to create a soothing, functional space that had a transitional feel and complemented the master bedroom aesthetics.

The bathroom walls and ceiling were painted only a few years ago so we decided to the spa like color light blue green color which become our launching place for our tile selections.  To bring in a classic element into our design, I selected the Themar Calcutta in the Venato Gold color for the bath floor tile.

My clients fell in love with a 3D White Ribbon wave pattern tile for the shower and tub walls which brought in a modern element.  I love using penny tiles for shower floors and I selected the S Series in Cloud Blue color which complements the wall paint and vanity color.  The tiles are all from Arizona Tile. The custom Canyon Creek vanity was painted using Sherwin Williams #6247 Kryton color and a large Fresca mirror medicine cabinet provides extra storage for both of my clients.

After much discussion we removed a window on the toilet wall that looked directly into their neighbor’s bedroom, and they were thrilled to now have a full wall to display some of their personal artwork.  I am a big proponent of removing windows if they don’t make sense for the functionality and overall flow of a space.  The new master bathroom is now their favorite room in their home!
